In "Resonieren|Übersetzen" (to resonate|to translate), Samuel Tschudin creates multi-layered soundscapes with a resonator-gong. Through fine articulations in his guitar playing, he builds up dynamic movements and shapes textures in the broad sound spectrum of the gong's resonant qualities. The recordings are the result of Tschudin's intensive engagement with the resonator-gong and the electric guitar that was specially modified for this work. The three pieces are excerpts of a more comprehensive sound performance. The resonator-gong used was developed and crafted by Samuel Tschudin and Marius Buck in anticipation of Maurice Martenot's "Resonateurs Métalliques".
